CAREER HISTORY

ANALYTICX LLC - CLOUD ENGINEER

  • Supported 8 cloud projects for Expression Networks alongside the DOD and NGA utilizing EC2, AWS OpenSearch, RedHat OpenShift, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kubernetes, and Redis for APIs, task management, task monitoring, notifications, schedulers, and email workers.

  • Converted an Elasticsearch cluster to AWS OpenSearch saving a customer $7,000 per month on cloud infrastructure expenses.

  • Fixed a critical issue related to GitLab CI/CD builds causing the RedHat code deployment system to fail on our containers and delay the deployment of projects by implementing a new code security scanning system with RedHat Advanced Cluster Security.

  • Maintained a Secret & NATO Secret security clearance (Active: July 2018).

September 2023 - Present

MITRE CORPORATION - SENIOR GAMING AND SIMULATION ENGINEER

  • Consulted alongside 2 systems engineers, 2 software engineers, 9 Department of Defense Centers of Excellence, and 8 companies to produce and deliver a virtual soldier trainer with AR capabilities by combining 3 virtual training systems to be used for training 1 million personnel.

  • Led a team of 3 software engineers to convert a federal and state benefit calculation program written in R to Python and moved data to a MongoDB database, resulting in an 82% reduction in processing times for 60 million people, cutting down on 9 billion hours (about 1,000,000 years) of wasted time, and 400 billion dollars (about $1,200 per person in the US) of wasted money.

  • Engineered an Autonomous Driving Assistance System using Unreal Engine 4, AWS EC2 and S3 services, and a NEAT algorithm for deep learning model training.

  • Mentored 2 Associate Software Engineers through a job shadowing program resulting in promotions to Intermediate Software Engineer.

  • Maintained a Secret & NATO Secret security clearance (Active: July 2018).

April 2021 - March 2023

HIGHGATE TRAINING SYSTEMS - SCENARIO DESIGNER / PROGRAMMER

  • Reviewed over 50 pieces of completed code and work from other engineers, ensuring compliance with product requirements including long term reliability, client expectations, and team standards.

  • Consulted, lead, and managed communications with clients, stakeholders, and leaders on product requirements, technical problems, software architecture, development challenges, and important technical changes.

  • Mapped human behaviors and vehicle interactions into realistic simulations in VBS 3 and Unreal Engine 4 involving up to 1000 human, vehicle, and aircraft assets simultaneously, while optimizing the development pipeline to reduce errors by 5%.

CGI FEDERAL - CONSULTANT SCENARIO DESIGNER / PROGRAMMER

  • Managed a team of 3 people and completed a project in 75% less time than planned and saved $3.5 million in project expenses as a Team Leader for the Scenario Development team.

  • Engineered the design, development, documentation, and distribution of a new benchmarking tool architecture for computers to calculate performance limits quickly and accurately in VBS3 using the SQF code and architecture.

  • Engineered a new code review system and architecture for peer-to-peer reviews to which reduced coding error rates among engineers by 15%.

  • Engaged and communicated in 20 client, stakeholder, and leadership meetings to evaluate, design, and implement goals, timelines, and milestones for projects.

  • Increased the frequency of follow-up emails and communication by 10% to collaborate and coordinate with clients and stakeholders.

  • Designed, engineered, debugged, and tested over 200 scenarios, simulations, and applications using VBS 3, Unreal Engine 4, Android Studio, AR, and VR systems for clients including the Pentagon and NATO, utilizing programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, Kotlin, and SQF.
